AmigaSupport Welcomes Gateway 2000 to the Amiga Community
Positive things are finally starting to happen concerning the Amiga liquidation, although from a surprising source. For those of you who haven=t yet heard the news, Gateway 2000, a direct seller of PC compatibles, has announced that it has placed a successful bid to purchase the assets of Amiga Technologies GbmH. Although they have not yet formally stated their intentions, Gateway may finally be answering the question of ownership of Amiga Technologies, a truly welcome event.
Gateway 2000 is a highly respected company based in the United States, and they continually earn top marks in customer satisfaction surveys based on service, support, and product reliability. As a US Securities Exchange Commision report states, the only trouble at Gateway 2000 is finding enough skilled people to keep up with its explosive growth. Truly, this seems to indicate a company capable of giving the Amiga the resources it deserves.
As always, we at AmigaSupport (operated by Robinson Consulting I.S. Ltd) will strive to provide you with up to date information as it becomes available. While this may not be the outcome that we were all expecting, it holds tremendous potential for the platform we all know and love. If Gateway 2000 is able to impart some of its success on the Amiga, then the future is very bright indeed.
Thank you for your continuing support, and keep checking out this site for the latest news and information on the Amiga.
